Cron presents really beautiful design. Like an upgraded Apple Calendar it offers a neat way to manage your events, book meetings & even time-block. It is also free. Owned by Notion, it is free and available to public access now.

Cron share availability feature is pretty neat, it's like a calendly feature... This actually saves a bit of headache when you need to schedule a lots of One to one meetings and you need to share availabilities quickly.

Doesn't work with Ventura. Great idea with a good user interface; but, it doesn't work with Ventura.

I am sticking with Cron only. Having tried Vimcal, Fantastical etc - none of them match up to Cron frankly.

Detailed Review

Notion Calendar, formerly known as Cron, is a free calendar application for macOS, iOS, and web, now part of the Notion ecosystem. It is designed to streamline scheduling and improve productivity, particularly for users deeply invested in the Google Calendar environment. Notion Calendar distinguishes itself with a clean, modern user interface and a focus on efficient workflows for managing events and sharing availability. While currently focused on Google Calendar integration, it aims to expand support for other calendar services in the future.

Standout Features

  • Intuitive Design: Offers a visually appealing and easy-to-navigate interface, considered an upgrade over standard calendar apps like Apple Calendar and Google Calendar.
  • Efficient Scheduling: Simplifies event creation and management, making it easy to organize your day and upcoming meetings.
  • Availability Sharing: Features a built-in availability sharing tool similar to Calendly, allowing users to quickly propose meeting times and let others book slots directly into their calendar.
  • Multiple Time Zones Support: Facilitates easy scheduling across different time zones, crucial for users collaborating internationally.
  • Keyboard Shortcuts: Provides extensive keyboard shortcuts for quick navigation and task execution within the app.
  • Integration with Google Calendar: Seamlessly integrates with Google Calendar, leveraging existing calendar data and workflows.
  • Cross-Platform Availability: Available on macOS, iOS, and web, ensuring accessibility across devices.

Conclusion

Notion Calendar is a strong contender in the calendar app space for Mac users, especially those who are already using Google Calendar. Its strengths lie in its user-friendly design, efficient scheduling features, and focus on streamlining workflows. The free availability and backing of Notion make it an attractive option. However, its current reliance on Google Calendar as the primary integration might be a limitation for users heavily invested in other calendar platforms. For users seeking a visually appealing, efficient, and free calendar app to enhance their productivity, Notion Calendar is definitely worth considering.
